Hi, and good summer to you all!

Long time watcher on cunka, now first time poster. Woho!

I want to try something on the PC3x, but need your help understanding if it is possible to do.

Setup: Strings and Chimes.
I want the chimes only to sound on the first note i lay in a chord. So if I lay down an E Major with the third on top -and the third struk first- the chime would only sound on the G#.

Is this possible?
If not, maybe itīs possible to get only the top note to play?

(Maybe "Note Priority" is the wrong word to describe what i need, but hey -im norwegian.)

Thank you for all help!

Easiest way would be to make the chimes monophonic and have a really slow portamento if the chords aren't held for too long.

There might be another way to do it, but I'll have to think about it a bit.  Maybe something to do with Channel Count.

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunatly it does not do the trick... With the portamento it sounds like an matrix-belltower siege, and without its very hard to get the note you want, even if i break the chord, top to bottom.

If there was any way of having the patch (in this case chimes) "highest-note-sensetiv", i mean the highest note in a chord is automagicly prioritized. It would of course be monophonic.

What is Channel Count?

The number of notes currently playing on a midi channel. See also my reply to your question on Sonikmatter:
