Dammit, this sound is going to be hard to program.  The strings is going to take us some time, if it is even possible on the PC3.

In the mean time, here's the Moogy lead sound.  I'll look into the guitar next and try to nut out a way to do the stings within the allowable layers.

Oops, I got it here, not over on Sonik...  I wish I could keep meta-data inside all these files for quick look up and programmers notes.

Hello there Wink
It's good to be here. Great respect for making kurzweil simplier and more friendly Smiley

I'm working at "shine on" strings too, but I think that it's to hard for me Wink I hope you guys will figure it out. I use PC3x.

Respect again!

I've also done the guitar layer from Daniel Fisher's patch as well.

Before I get comments back, it may not sound exactly like Pink Floyd.  I'm migrating Daniel Fisher's patch across from the K2 series to the PC3.

This new patch incorporates the Moog Lead and the Guitar as the original one did.  The next challenge is the strings, though I very much doubt I'll be able to get the auto chords like Daniel did, using the PC3, as we don't have the keymap editor available.  You might have to play the left hand chords yourself Sad

Shine On Lead 2

Stay tuned for more.

Hi! I'm kla and this is my first time here.

This is a setup that I've been created for "Shine on" intro/part 1: the '75 LP original version. Quoting another PF's verse "It's not the worst, it's not the best"... I'm working on it but I think it's a good starting point. I tried to create some 70s keys like Solina string ensemble, VCS3, Moog taurus, etc.

Let's start:
a. Volume 0
b. press sustain pedal
c. keys: Bb1, G2, Bb2, D3, G3, Bb3, D4 (and release them)
d. press SW
e. press G1 and don't release it
f. increase volume
g. press D1 for the descending effect

the left hand plays the high strings melody; the right one plays the lead and the sparkles.

zones with SW active:
from G1 to G2: high string melody
from A2 to D5: sparkles
form F5 to C8: main lead

For G-, D- and C- steps: hit SW again and active zone 4 (the "Orchestra" control). Play on C2-G4 area.

I hope you enjoy this setup and accept it as a starting point for our friendship.
Waiting for your suggestion.

Hi all !

No comments on this thread since a long time Wink

I've worked myself on this sound, and I'd like to share this work with you.

It's a K26 setup Wink

I'm waiting for your feelings or comments Wink

Nice job!

One thing I noticed that sticks out to my ear, is a very high pitched frequency pulsing at about 1 cycle per second.  It starts with the initial drone chord and lasts throughout the piece.

Also, I'd put that first drone chord a bit more in the background somehow.  Perhaps a bit more reverb or a 'swirly' texture.

Keep up the good work man.

Stephen
